At the time of writing there are more than 100 Leyland Nationals from a wide variety of operators preserved by members of the Leyland National Group. However you do not need to own a bus to join the group, as membership is open to anyone who is interested in Leyland Nationals or their derivatives; the Leyland-DAB, Leyland B21 and Leyland National bodied rail vehicles.

By joining The Leyland National Group members are given exclusive access to the Members section of the Leyland National Group website - Included here are features, articles, rally reports, galleries, Leyland publicity brochures, leaflets and technical information, detailed profiles of preserved Leyland Nationals and more!

Members are also eligible to discounted prices on group merchandise, publications and vehicle parts, technical support to assist vehicle owners with queries, sourcing of parts and the sharing of knowledge of the Leyland National including fleet histories, current location of a particular vehicles or how to solve a problem with your National. In addition members will also recieve a colour illustrated magazine, The NATIONAL Press.

Issued quarterly in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, The NATIONAL Press has a wide range of regular articles and one-off features, including...

  • Preservation news detailing vehicle movements and updates, rally reports and details of forthcoming bus rallies and running days where Leyland Nationals are expected to be in attendance.

  • Fleet news; despite Leyland Nationals now being retired from frontline service, the group aims to keep track of surviving vehicles. Movements and news items of interest are included in every issue of The NATIONAL Press.

  • Group members own a number of different Leyland Nationals. Within the pages of The NATIONAL Press members have written detailed articles on the rescue, recovery, restoration and ressurection of their own preserved Nationals. Less fortunate vehicles are remembered in regular historical articles such on specific vehicles, operators and fleets.

  • Members are able to benefit from the knowledge within the group - A Q&A section enables members who may have a technical or historical query. In addition, technical articles are often included.

  • If that wasn't enough, pictures from the past and present, classified adverts, book and model reviews, information and articles detailing the Leyland National derived rail vehicles and many other items of National interest including British Leyland archive material can also be found within the pages of The NATIONAL Press.
